Blue Chips

An essential part of any recovery journey is recognizing milestones and celebrating them. One of the ways we do that here at Celebrate Recovery is through chips and coins. These chips are physical reminders of God‘s continual love and healing. They are powerful reminders of hard fought victories! It is a milestone and a victory that you are here with us tonight and we want to celebrate by giving you a blue chip!

On the last Tuesday of every month, we have “chip night”. We recognize lengths of our recovery journeys with each other and celebrate by cheering each other on. Each chip is a different color symbolizing different lengths of sobriety or recovery time. Chips come in 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and so forth. Once you get to the 1 yr mark you will receive a gold coin. Months are celebrated in chips, years are celebrated in coins.

Introductions

Here at Celebrate Recovery we introduce ourselves with our name, identifying that we are believers in Jesus Christ, and our area of struggle.

If you are not yet a follower of Jesus, please feel free to use just your name.

EX: My name is_____, I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ who struggles with____.

By introducing ourselves in this way it keeps us out of denial and helps us remember our identity is in Christ, not our Hurts, Habits, or Hang ups. It may take some time to identify/name your struggles and that is ok. If you are unsure, you may simply say you're figuring them out. What's important is that you are here tonight!

Recovery from your hurts, habits, and hang-ups is going to take some time and work. The problems didn’t happen overnight so they will not go away overnight, either. It works if you work it and you are worth it!

It's recommended that you attend at least 5 or 6 times before you make the decision if Celebrate Recovery is for you.
